IT is with tremendous sorrow I announce the sad demise of Prof. Mannaraswamighala Sreeranga Rajan (popularly, Prof. MS Rajan) of JNU in the early hours of Wednesday, 17 February 2010 after a brief illness. A believer in plain living and high thinking he was intellectually active until the very end. A life lived unremembered is no life at all. However, many who received his kindness in so many ways would gratefully remember Professor Rajan. I, a former Stenographer of his got my job in JNU because of him. A staunch devotee of NAM, I used to joke with him that he should now give up NAM for "Ram" as that is what is going to accompany him to the abode of Mahavishnu. He used to laugh it away. Let us all pray for his eternal bliss in Sri Vaikuntam Sri SREENIVASAN RAJU AIYER.
